Free Student Aid Application

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA is a form provided by the government for free. FAFSA can be filled up by those aspiring to determine their eligibility for federal student financial aid.

The FAFSA contains a certain number of questions about the student’s financial status as well as other pertinent information about his or her family. This information gathered by FAFSA are then entered to determine whether or no they are eligible to receive aid from the federal government, and how much aid they would be receiving. The information collected by FAFSA on the other hand, does not include anything relating to religion, ethnicity or race.

A summary of FAFSA responses are then sent to the student for necessary corrections, as well as an electronic version to the colleges or the universities that the student has chosen, as well as other agencies that might be able to provide for need-based aid.

It should be noted though that most schools may grant aid on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is advised that students fill out the FAFSA as early as possible so that their application can be considered earlier and have a greater chance of the maximum amount of financial aid possible.
